Site content
The Blogs branch in Site content is where you manage news, announcements, and long-form articles. Published posts appear on your public blog listing (built with blog blocks on the overview page). Draft posts stay hidden until you publish them.
What the Blogs area includes
- A blog overview page in the tree (listing and featured area on the live site)
- Individual posts as child pages or entries under Blogs, each with title, body, slug, and publish state
- Optional categories or filters depending on your theme and blocks (for example Blog feed on the home page)
Your institute may label the tree node "Blog" or "News"; the workflow is the same.
Before you publish
- Decide who may create posts (usually administrators or marketing staff with Site content access)
- Use a consistent title style (date + topic, or programme name + update)
- Keep slugs short and readable; the system suggests a URL-friendly slug from the title
- Add a featured image or excerpt if your theme supports it on listing cards
Connect posts to the rest of the site
- Blog overview block: controls featured posts and the main archive on the blog page (see CMS block reference).
- Blog feed block: shows recent posts on the home page or campaign pages without duplicating the full archive.
- Link from home hero buttons or CTAs to your public Blogs path when you promote a new article.
How to create and publish a post
-
Sign in as Administrator (or a role with Site content access).
-
Open Site content in the sidebar and expand Blogs in the page tree.
-
Select Add post or open an existing post to edit.
-
Enter title, body (rich text), and confirm slug (edit if the auto suggestion is unclear).
-
Save as draft while reviewing; switch to published when copy, links, and images are final.
-
Open the public Blogs section in a private browser window to confirm the post appears in the listing and opens correctly.
What you gain
- Timely announcements without developer help
- Better SEO and trust when you publish helpful articles regularly
- One place to manage all institute news alongside other Site content
Troubleshooting
| Post not on live site | Publish state; not draft |
|---|---|
| Post missing from home feed | Blog feed block limits or category filter |
| Wrong URL | Slug on the post; avoid changing slug after sharing links |
| Broken formatting | Rich text paste from Word; use clear headings inside the body |
