Courses and outline (expert)
Expert
Open Manage courses to see assigned courses only. The outline builder is where you structure sections, add activities (video, PDF, reading, quiz links), and control what students see on their learning path.
Students only see published activities. Draft or unpublished items are the most common reason learners report an empty course.
Open the outline
- Open Manage courses and select your course.
- Open Outline or Course builder (label varies by theme).
- Review existing sections top to bottom before adding content.
- Use preview as student or a test student login when your institute provides one.

Build sections and activities
- Add section and name it clearly (for example “Algebra: Linear equations”).
- Inside the section, Add activity and choose the type (video, document, rich text, mock test link, etc.).
- Complete the form: URLs, uploads, body text, or linked mock test as required.
- Set published when students should see the activity.
- Drag rows to reorder sections and activities.
- Save frequently; large uploads may take time.
Match activity order to how you teach live or async: concept video, reading, practice quiz.
Activity types (summary)
Your institute may enable additional types; see Activity types.
- Video: Embedded or linked playback in the path
- Document / PDF: In-browser or download per theme
- Rich text: Reading with institute formatting
- Mock test / quiz: Launches test player; attempts in Performance
Publish checklist
- Media URLs play in an incognito browser or student test account
- Quiz activities link to a published mock test
- Section titles match syllabus or brochure wording
- No placeholder “lorem” copy left in published activities
What you gain
- One outline per course aligned with how students progress
- Control over visibility without administrator tickets for every tweak
- Reuse of institute mock tests and uploads across terms when content repeats
